Since I don't have the lovely Blossom here to lend class to the operation, I am resorting to other measures. Yarn porn. Gratuitous, wanton, sizzling, Scandinavian dirty blond yarn porn.
First the neutrals:
Regia Silk, Misti Alpaca Chunky (love this), and Classic Elite Blithe (100% baby camel, this is ridiculously, unbelievably light and soft. )
The blues:
The reds:
Pink Koigu KPM, hot pink Lang Jawoll, Lornas Laces in Bittersweet, Mountain Colors Bearfoot in Ruby Red
Ok, so I am a little overboard. I knew it was a mistake to start knitting socks. The sock yarn multiplies so easily. By the way, this spectacular guy from the neutrals category reminds me of this character from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Except a little softer.
since i had become obsessed with sock knitting recently, i have been definitely doing my best to see that no stores who sell sock yarn will go out of business in the near future.
ReplyDeletesock yarn is dangerous though. $20 here...$30 there and before you know it your sock yarn stash has doubled...ermmm or tripled!
Hmm, a good reason why I've postponed learning to knit socks for another year ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so not a red/pink person but those reds & pinks make me want to be!
Oh what a glorious haul! I always pet the Misti Alpaca Bulky everytime I'm at the LYS. It is so heavenly soft. I'm very intrigued by the camel yarn (I've yet to see any locally). You'll have to share what it feels like to knit up! I agree with Marina. Your beautiful batch of pinks and red are making me want to run to the yarn shop now. The bittersweet colorway of Lorna's is so pretty...and Bearfoot...swoon...
ReplyDeletePretty treasures, plenty of class...
ReplyDeleteOoh, lovely yarns! I especially like the looks of that greyish marled Classic Elite one, what are you going to make with that?
ReplyDeleteI admit I am one of the yarn dieters this year - it makes me happy to see others' purchases!!
Yummy, the goodness! These colours cheered me up considerably this morning!
ReplyDeleteOh - I better stop sock knitting again. I didn't remember that side effect :)
ReplyDeleteYummmmmm! I'm getting my yarn fix right here this morning :)
ReplyDeleteyummy stuff, you're just a little yarn trollop
ReplyDeleteOh yummy , since Jeff recovered I have been comfort "eating" like a carzy woman . I am awaiting a parcel of some Noro Summer yarns tomorrow , buying from Colinette E;Bay ..is there a "Yarn Watchers" ?Angie Cox
ReplyDeletemmm... i am glad to see you are supporting the yarn business! i am particularly drawn to the bearfoot. looking forward to seeing more yummy socks here!
ReplyDeleteYour indulgence made me feel a little better about my all the indulging I did yesterday! :-)
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky - the yarn stores around here won't carry sock yarn because apparently nobody wants to buy it. I guess I didn't count... oh well. I love all of the colors you picked!
ReplyDeleteThat's some kind of gorgeous yarny goodness enhancement! Seriously, they're all so beautiful! What a treat....(can you tell I'm knitting from my stash?) and I want to thank you for those visuals!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!! Thanks for sharing this beautiful skeins. I've become a bit of a yarn glutton lately and love to see others indulging, too!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures make me want to go shopping :)
i covet your reds.
ReplyDeleteThey're all gorgeous!! I can live vicariously through you. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't stop laughing at your post title and I'm completly envious of your haul!
ReplyDeleteUh oh. I was rather impressed with the 2.75 socks you had made. You've also got me feenin for more of that Misti alpaca. Siiiiiiigh!
ReplyDeleteIt is almost too much to look at all at once. Lorna's *and* the pink Koigu?? (feeling woozy from happy delirium).
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you make with these! Hope you have a great weekend.
Det var litt av et garnutvalg. Skjønne farger alt sammen. Har tenkt å prøve Lorna Lace-garn, men har ikke kommet så langt ennå.! Ha ei fin helg!
ReplyDeleteOoh. I want your sock yarn!
ReplyDeleteWell, some of us need to keep yarn stores in business, right? I'm lending a hand too. I love your stash expansion!
ReplyDeletelovely choices! LOVE the reds....can't wait to see what comes out of them! :)
ReplyDeleteSome gorgeous yarn. And btw, I'm reliably informed that sock yarn doesn't count as stash. So keep buying.
