Blocking, who needs it?

Soft, white, and fluffy like a cloud.

This is how I like my lace to look.

The Large Rectangle in Leaf and Trellis pattern, from Victorian Lace Today, in a scarf version. I am working on the edging at the moment. This project is renewing my love for Misti Baby Alpaca Lace yarn! It's so wonderful!

And it does come in 22 gorgeous colors...

Maybe I will have to flatten the project a tiny, tiny, little bit at the finishing stage. But not too much!

Meanwhile, though I love the white alpaca, I am hankering after colors... Who knows what will come out of this?

  2. ..wow...ahem...did you understand that comment above?

Fluffy white cloud of lacy goodness, a bit of heaven I'd say!

Mmmm, that's a lovely lot of DMC, and I know I loves ME a lovely lot of the stuff... I do believe I'm going to really enjoy whatever you get up to with it!
    (thank you hugs to you)

  3. Yeah ... fluffy lace is lovely! No need for blocking. The pattern is open enough, I think.
::whispering::I also bought some colourful threads too ... and a hoop! I am going to try some stitching ... got the book "The New Crewel" ... the patterns are all so cute, couldn't help myself! :D

  5. The lace looks lovely, nice and cosy in that state, just a light block would be enough!

  6. If my lace looked like that pre-blocking, I too might leave it as is.

You're going to knit something plain and then do some stitching on it?

  8. you're going to start knitting with only size -0 needles, OR you are going to start cross stitching with Kristin Nicholas... OR, you are decorating the front proch for Halloween (cuz who cares aout orange and black)... love the lace beauty! And now you just need to translate the Norwegian comments for all of us non-Norwegian speakers...

  10. oooohhhh, it's such a pretty pile of frothy creamy white fluff. A dear friend just gave me some creamy lace yarn and I can't decide which pattern to knit because it's so special. I'll let it sit in the stash a while and just savour it's creamy goodness until I'm ready :)

  12. So if that's what lace looks like unblocked, why don't more people do it that way. and why isn't miss 4 long stockings modeling for you?

what are you doing with the floss?

  13. Ahh, white fluffy clouds. I feel instantly relaxed now.
I have about 5 balls of misti alpaca laceweight in Merlot I'd be happy to unload if the embroidery floss doesn't satisfy your colour cravings! (You can see it on my ravelry stash.)

  17. Your lace is beautiful! I have that book, but haven't dipped into a pattern yet.

The embroidery thread colors are so cheery! You have me wondering what you'll be making with them.

  18. You knit so beautifully that blocking shouldn't have to happen at all! And, color is sometimes good, always fun!
