Tweedy hat and scarf

Back to knitting! This week I finished the scarf for my husband and made a hat too, while watching a lot of good movies and Poirot mysteries. The Sisik yarn is beautiful and warm, a tweedy mix of mohair, wool and a small amount of acrylic and rayon. I might have to make a simple hat like this for myself, too!

Yarn: Dale Sisik, 5 skeins, from Kris.
Needles: 3.5 mm
Pattern: Trial and Error
Sisik: Here is a picture of a sisik for which the yarn is named.

We are having really bad lighting today, I should maybe take new pictures tomorrow...

Pippi is wondering when we can get rid of this pesky tree which is keeping her from her corner. She likes to hide there.

I wish everyone a fabulous new year. Don't make too many new years resolutions!

  1. I thought I recognised that sisik! A lovely pair of warm accessories you have produced as well. That trial and error pattern sure worked out well in the end!
My dog's best little canine friend is a whippet called Pantoufle, who shares a similar attitude as Pippi to his special lambskin rug he likes to lie on (which my dog always co-opts whenever we're visiting)!

  3. Aww, poor Pippi! Hope she got some presents but I guess that doesn't make up for losing her space.

  5. I was wondering about this Sisik yarn ... there is this lovely halo with it ... so it turns out there is mohair! My favourite fibre! Lovely set of winter accessories.
If Pippi lives in my house, she would be really unhappy because we didn't put the christmas tree away until it's really not the season! hahaha ... the present record was 2 years ago ... it stayed until June!
    Happy New Year.

  7. Lovely hat! I love that Sisik, it's too sad they discontinued it... Little Knits still has 3 colours left, if only they had the eggplant colour... And Pippi looking quite put out by the tree... she's so cute... Have a very very happy new year, and then, onward to Poetry!
